I am completing this application for:*
Is this activity or trip taking place in the next three months?*

STOP - you do not need to fill out an Activity and Travel Application at this time. Please submit this form 1-3 months in advance of your travel departure date.

Does this trip involve traveling outside the state of Texas for either a national or international trip?*
What is the travel risk level of your destination? (See US Department of State Link above this form.)*

STOP - Travel to level 4 destinations is prohibited at this time.

Would you like to be put in touch with other Girl Scouts or Girl Guides at your travel destination?*
Does this activity or trip include high-risk activities where certification is required? (For more information on high-risk classifications, please see the link to Safety Activity Checkpoints above this form.)*
Check all high-risk activities that apply:*
Will the high-risk activity take place on a GSCTX property (such as one of our camps or service centers) OR is a GSCTX-sponsored program OR is it one of the high-risk sites pre-approved by GSCTX? (For a list of approved sites, please visit the Approved High-Risk Sites for ATAs link above this form.)*
If you answer yes, we do not need high-risk certifications uploaded. We already have certifications on file for GSCTX properties, GSCTX-sponsored programs, and select locations frequently visited by Girl Scouts and listed in the link above this form.
Because the high-risk activity does NOT take place on GSCTX property or one of our pre-approved locations/facilities/sites, please provide a copy of the certification necessary to participate in a high-risk activity:*

Training Certifications

Information about Training Certifications often required for travel:

  • CPR/AED and First Aid - A first-aider is an adult volunteer who has taken Girl Scout-approved first-aid and CPR training that includes specific instructions for child CPR. All troop meeting and troop activities must have at least one adult volunteer in attendance that is first-aid/CPR-certified.

  • Let’s GO! 1 – Out and About - This course trains volunteers to lead Girl Scouts on adventures including field trips, basic day hikes, and simple overnights in buildings with their own heat source, electricity, and running water. It's required for day trips staying out past midnight or overnights lasting up to two nights with no outdoor cooking involved. This course is a pre-requisite for all other Let's GO! courses.

  • Let’s GO! 2 – Fire, Food, and Fun! - This course trains volunteers to build fires, cook a simple one-pot meal, and make s'mores. It's required for indoor camping with outdoor cooking/campfires.

  • Let’s GO! 3 – Outdoor Skills - This course is required for outdoor camping (tent, cabin, platform) with outdoor cooking. Participants taking this course learn the eight basic camping skills, how to include the Girl Scouts in planning, budgeting, packing for an overnight trip, safety, fire-building, cooking, sanitation, and many other activities.

  • Let’s GO! The Extra Mile - This course is required for travel more than two (2) days and three (3) nights, whether it's in-state, regional, national, or international.  It provides more information about budgeting for larger trips, how to plan accommodations and travel, and other pertinent information.

  • Let’s GO! 1 – Out and About Recertification Course - This is a re-certification course for Let’s Go! 1 – Out and About, to be taken every three years.

  • Let's GO! 1, 2, 3 - A course that covers all three Let's GO! sessions in one course.

  • Chaperone Training - This is an online mini course that covers safety, roles, and responsibilities for adults traveling with the troop. It's not required, but strongly recommended
